Was cleaning my road bike today and noticed my bottom bracket seems a bit loose like the cranks have got a bit of movement , whats recommended bike shop fix or self fix or would a new bottom bracket be better . same again bike shop or self fix ???????

probaly just needs tightened up, although you do need a specail bottom bracket tool for this.

if you realy havnt got a clue just go to the shop, but were allways hear to help Wink

As Marty said, probably just needs tightening although you do need a special spanner.

You can get away with improvising using a flat headed screwdriver and a hammer to gently tap the locking ring round and a bit of rag to help protect the ring tooth. Just depends how confident you are doing it. The spanners are quite pricey if it's something your going to be using infrequently.

Alternatively a bike shop might just nip it up for free if you ask them nicely Wink

just the one that came with the bike Shimano Hollowtech II
dont know anything about it tho apart from it is has some movement and clicking

I see, that's a bracket removal tool, looks very similiar to a cassette tool, usually the bottom bracket is secured by a lockring which the above spanner fits, in my experience the lockring or rather its looseness affects the play in the cranks in the first instance.
