hi everyone, heres the second race report which may be a bit longer as i rode in the adult race aswell as the u16,s

well was looking forward to racing today, even tho when i got there the organiser told me i should be riding in the u16's instead of the u14's Rolling Eyes

got of to a badish start getting stuck behind slower riders on some fast uphill singletrack, but i dont like to show my cards to early so wasnt to bad realy. i was in fourth place and batteling with third untill a bit of a disaster lap. a dropped my bottle and as my dad wasnt on the ball he didnt manage to get the second one to me so on the next lap i stoped to pick it up, which was a big mistake as the 3rd place rider took full advantage of this, gapping me by a about 150 meters Evil or Very Mad. one of the leaders had blown up so i caught him on the last couple of laps which put me in a good position.

so got 3rd in the end which is my best result so far so i was happy, although if the bottle drama didnt happen i could of had a better chance at second

then i decided to ride in the adult race aswell, there was a few u16's and u14's( which is were your position comes from, your age catogry )

got a great start and plodded on for a few laps passing alot of the decent adults which was great fun Wink , i had an idea that if i pushed on at the start ( 1 hour race ) the other riders in my age cat would tire and even pull out. sudenly on one of the early laps they caught me, but they were in a group of 4 so were working good together. i had a good rythem and picked sensible places to take drinks. as i drove on i was happy to see the riders in my cat dropping out, infact all of them droped out so i'd new i got the win over them. which is a great feeling as you start to get tired legs. was glad to see the race come to a end with my runny nose starting to annoy me abit Very Happy

heres some pics of the race, both adult and youth

letting it all unfold infront of me on the first lap

coming out of the single track getting ready to dismount for the log

Well done Marty, and excellent write up and great photographs to compliment it. Just the sort of content this site needs to add a bit of diversity for our members.

Well done and keep it coming. Wink
