Anyone fancy a early evening ride Question

Looking at starting from Yarm Railway Station on the B1264.

TIME...................1700

DATE...................Tuesday 27/05/08

ROUTE.................Left out of station on B1264, turn off for Hornby, on to Appleton Wiske, on to Deighton, on to Brompton.

Turn right onto A684 to Ellerbeck, left to East Harsley, on to East Rounton, over to Crathorne and back to Yarm Station.

Roughly 29 mile in total.

Would like to think a moderate pace of 13-15 mile per hour for this ride.

Well, it wasn't any warmer Harry, in fact it was damned chilly, threatening rain and very windy.

Luckily I had put a thermal vest on as well as my long sleeve top under my waterproof jacket, oh and not forgetting the gloves Embarassed Embarassed

IN MAY Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Still, all in all, a very satisfying ride over a really good route, one that would be excellent with better weather.

Time out...............2 hours 18 minutes
Distance ..............39.02 mile
avge speed...........16.9 m.p.h.

The above times are from Stainton, not Yarm, it took me 17 minutes to get to Yarm, which was a distance of about 5 miles.

So I reckon the actual route I posted would be:

29 mile which would have been done in about 1 hour 42 minutes at the pace I was going.

Gunner, forgot all about this. Sorry. Off work this week so went out this afternoon. Bloody freezing. Never known such shite weather in May. Legs still a bit tired after Saturday's Richmond 5 Dales and yesterday's fast 40-mile thrash.
Got ten days to recover and then it's the White Rose Classic.

No problem Harry, yeah, the weather is awful, I'm off work too. I always have a week in May off as the weather is usually fantastic, I'm pretty sure that this is the first week in 28 years when the weather has been so bad. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
