Filthy Joined: 12 Apr 2008 Posts: 407 Location: Costa del Smog	Posted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 6:07 pm    Post subject: Sunday 3rd August Hamsterley Charity Ride MTBE/Trailblazers Charity Ride aka The MTBE Invasion of Hamsterley Forest Date: Sun 3rd August 2008 Time: Meet 10:00am at the visitor centre Location Hamsterley Forest Route TBC probably some black route and downhill or 4x for the nutters. As some of you know PaulB’s little lad Callum was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, he’s currently receiving treatment at the RVI in Newcastle and we all wish him a speedy recovery. The aim of this ride is to raise funds for CLICsargent which is a charity that has helped Paul and his family tremendously since the outset of Callum’s illness. So if you want to come along and have a relaxed ride out or just wish to raise some funds for the charity click on the link below which will take you to the fundraising page. Everyone is welcome to come along and the pace will be at that of the slowest rider, alternative routes will be available around the downhill and 4x bits. *** Update *** I have spoken to Descend and we can do a run down the DH track, probably start from the 4X track then down the bottom half of the NPS course. The red route turned out to be a bit boring so I’m proposing we do a bit of black and blue followed by 4X/DH then finish the black and play on the skills loop, this is the provisional route as the Trailblazers might have some better bits. We now have loads of great prizes for the raffle, tickets will be on sale on the day so don’t forget to bring some cash, all the funds going to CLICSargent. So far we have 2 camelbac havoc hydration systems courtesy of Westbrooks 2 pairs of clipless pedals from Bikescene An Apollo XC26 mountain bike thanks to Rip off of Trailblazers and the star prize a pair of MBUK flip flops, still in the original packaging. Mrs Filthy is trying to blag some ingredients off her employer (Sainsbury’s) then we can have some flapjack for sale too. Feel free to email me some recipes as mine was a bit crumbly last time. Everyone is welcome to turn up and have a ride were meeting 10:00 at the visitor centre car park with the ride starting approx 10:30.
